Sony Reveals New Android Device – Xperia Tablet Z

When every company is on the verge to make its foothold in the market zone of advanced tablets, trying to take every opportunity they get, Sony had been keeping quite for a while. However, recently the company has announced a new tablet, Xperia Tablet Z, to be launched at its home base, Japan. Although release of the gadget has net yet been announced worldwide, yet the Android powered tablet is to hit Japanese market shortly.

The gadget will be launched in the markets of Japan, this year, featuring technology of LTE. However, Sony has not yet announced whether the technology would be available for handsets of international market as well. If sources are to be believed, Tablet Z, code named ‘Pollux’, is going to be dustproof and even waterproof, giving respite to consumers throughout world market.

Quality features of upcoming Tablet Z from Sony

According to sources, the latest technical marvel by Sony comes with a 10.1-inch screen with a better resolution. Although it cannot be compared to what Google’s Nexus 10 or Apple’s technology of retina-display is providing, yet, the screen display is certainly not to lay down the consumers. An LCD TFT display with resolution of 1920 x 1200, supporting Sony’s Mobile Bravia Engine of second generation, Tablet Z qualifies as a device that is capable to produce image and video of 1080p HD resolution.

Sony has even introduced an 8MP Exmor-R rear camera powered with world’s first back-illuminated sensors. This makes the tablet function as a high-end camera as well. Sony has taken careful steps to make the device effective for low-light shooting also. It will even sport a front camera of 2.2 MP. The device is even said to be supporting Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n versions and even possess advanced capability of NRC technology. Addition of NFC to the device would certainly let the users to access streaming of videos over the internet by simple tapping on screen itself.

Tablet Z from Sony, will be running on Jelly Bean version of Android of 4.1, with added application and tweaks of the company. It is apprehended that the tablet will feature an application of Walkman music with built-in visualizer, photo editor and slide-show applications. It comes with a quad core processor of 1.5 GHz S4 Pro from Qualcomm and RAM of 2GB, which is same as the mobile phone device, Xperia Z. 32 GB of storage memory, along with an SD card slot provides huge storage option for the consumers of the gadget.

It is being argued that although the gadget does not reach the standards of Google’s Nexus 10 or Apple’s iPad, in terms of high display quality, yet its full HD and 1080p resolution would certainly not cause any disappointment. On the other hand, Tablet Z from Sony is surely to beat the tablets from counterparts Google and Apple, in terms of dimension and weight.

An added feature that helps distinguishing the tablet from its rivals is that Sony has introduced the technology of S-Front 3D Surround Sound system, which is dedicated for the brand’s television sets only, as of now. Great virtual surround sound quality will surely help the gadget to stand out of the crowd. Even, the design is also said to be following the lines of Xperia Z, with rear glass panels and boxy appearance.

In spite of all these qualities, Sony has not been able to introduce a quality battery for Tablet Z like that of Google. Yet, the 6000 mAh battery is said to optimize utilization of software of the device like other models of Xperia.

Sony is expected to launch two color variants of the handsets in Japanese market – black and white. Price of the device has not yet been officially declared yet. Sony has announced that the device will be available in the market of Japan by the season of spring, 2013.

Speculation regarding launch of the device worldwide

The company has not revealed its plans for worldwide launch, officially as yet. However, it is being speculated that owing to the vast encroachment of tablets throughout the world, Sony will be going the way to introduce variant colors of the gadget for capturing attention of world consumer. Specifications might also be altered, regarding the global version of the gadget.  A global version of Xperia Z is expected before Apple introduces its next generation of iPad mini or iPad into the arena.
